Welcome back
Now we are going to combine lots of shapes you have learnt - Squares, triangles and rectangles
Here is the original block
And here is mine
Here is the link to Kimberly's video for this block
And the link for the instructions
Cutting
From the coral fabric cut
8 x 1/2 square triangles from a 2.5 inch strip - using a ruler/template so you get your seam allowance

From the periwinkle fabric cut
4 x 1/2 square triangles from a 2.5 inch strip - using a ruler/template so you get your seam allowance
From the yellow/lime fabric cut

From both the mint and the light teal/aqua fabrics cut
4 – 1½” x 2½” rectangles from each fabric
From the background fabric cut
12 – 2½” half square triangles - using a ruler/template so you get your seam allowance
8 – 1½” x 2½” rectangles
Construction
Layout the block as follows and sew the half square triangles together
Press as shown in the video. She has some great tips.
Kimberly also details how to sew your blocks together. I suggest you do it in this order so your seam directions work.
Your first focus is on the corner blocks
Then the middle row of the cross.
The top and bottom of the cross.
The corner squares can get sewn to the top of the cross
Repeat for the bottom row
Join the 3 sections together
You now have block D
Join this block to the background fabric at the top of Block B
Join a piece of background fabric to the top. The background fabric is to measure 10.5 inches wide by 5.5 inches high.
It will look like this when you are done.
See you next week
