Services We Offer
At My Sewing Supplies we offer a long arm quilting service. We offer both edge to edge and custom quilting. The machine in based in our Sylvania store, however we have patterns and threads in Lindfield and do pick up and drop off quilts through the Lindfield store.
We have two trained sewing machine repair technicians at My Sewing Supplies. We service all machine brands.
We offer one on one "how to use your machine lessons".
1
Edge to Edge Longarm Quilting
Edge to edge quilting is when one quilting pattern is repeated all over the quilt. It is sometimes known as continuous quilting or pantograph. This is the most affordable quilting service.
2
Custom Longarm Quilting
Custom quilting is when the machine is manually driven to stitch differnt quilting designs into different areas on the quilt. The block backgrounds may be different to the borders, that are different to the sashing. Applique items may be outlined etc. This is a very time-consuming process that also requires a lot of skill and years of practice. This is an expensive service due to the hours involved. The results are worth it and incredible.
To find out more contact the Sylvania store on 02 95222340.
Your quilt can be dropped off and picked up from either store.

Machine Service
It is important to have your sewing machines and overlockers serviced regularly, in the same way you would have your car serviced. If you wait until it is broken, the delay to your sewing can often be increased while waiting for parts.
During the service process, the covers are taken off the machine and internal components are reviewed, clean and lubricated, settings are adjusted as required. If parts are required, they would be automatically replaced and charged if they were smaller in cost. Larger repairs are quoted / estimated and discussed prior to commencement.
The $50 deposit taken at the time the machine is dropped off, is non refundable and covers the cost of quoting, if the service/repair does not proceed. If the service / repair is completed the $50 deposit is offset against the total cost.
Your machine will have the tensions reset and a test sewing sample supplied on return.

Machine Lessons
If you have been given a machine, purchased it second hand or purchased it from a shop that does not provide support, we can help you learn your machine. We offer a one on one "how to use your machine" lesson that runs you through the basics of the machine and accessories and gives you confidence in using it at home. We also show you how to clean and maintain it on a regular basis at home. We charge by the hour for this service.
