Hello
While many of you may have seen us online or in one of the shops, we thought we should reintroduce ourselves as we celebrate our 20th year of business. Here is our fantastic team, that we are incredibly lucky to have. We often receive feedback as to our staff and how wonderful they are, and we do agree.
Bernadette - works in both Lindfield and Sylvania
My professional journey into the sewing industry began when we purchased Pegs Pieces, in Kirrawee, back in 2005. In my prior life I was an accountant. I have always had a passion for sewing and now try to share this with our customers. I strive to inspire, assist and educate customers achieve their sewing and crafting goals with confidence and creativity. While I don't get as much time as I'd like to sew, I'm more than willing to give you lots of ideas and keep you sewing. You'll find me in both shops, teaching, serving at the counter and attempting to get business admin done.

Ian - works in both Lindfield and Sylvania
I'm one of the owners of My sewing supplies. I can generally be found working on the computer or a machine or behind the counter. I'm excited about the latest in technology coming to the sewing world and keen to show it to you. I also appreciate the lovely range of fabrics we have and though I'm not about to make a quilt anytime soon, I do enjoy seeing what our customers are creating. I enjoy learning more and sharing that knowledge with you all.

Crystal - works in Sylvania and is a guest teacher in Lindfield
I have recently been appointed the Sylvania Store Manager and have been a part of the Pegs Pieces/My Sewing Supplies business now for over 10 years. You will generally find me behind the counter, operating the long arm or teaching from the classroom. I have a keen passion for creating new projects whether it be a quilt, bag or clothing. I have been trained to use the long arm quilting machine located in the Sylvania store and love bringing your quilts to life with edge to edge patterns.

Vicky - works in Sylvania and is a guest teacher in Lindfield
I made my first quilt over thirty years ago and my passion for the craft continues to this day. I have been working with Bernadette and Ian as part of their customer care team at My Sewing Supplies since 2010. Over that time, I have increased my knowledge and role in the business to now being able to assist you with everything from fabric purchase and design ideas, all the way through to quilting and finishing your beautiful projects, as well sewing machine training, upkeep and troubleshooting. My great loves are English paper piecing and long-arm quilting, while trying to dabble a little in the world of collage textiles.

Sarah - works in both Lindfield and Sylvania
You may know me as the six-week-old baby under the table at a quilt show. I'm Sarah, the daughter of Bernadette and Ian. I grew up around the business where I learned the ropes and developed a love for creating. I left school to study fashion at Tafe, which I graduated from last year. Now, I’m lucky to be working alongside my parents bringing fresh ideas to our business. Outside of work, I enjoy exploring new fashions, through design and making. You will usually find me serving customers at the counter or hidden away with my iPad updating our website and social medias.

Lauren- based in Sylvania
Hi, my name is Lauren and I’m a year 11 student looking forward to going onto fashion design at TAFE next year. Over the past year of working at My Sewing Supplies, I’ve loved gaining lots of new skills! I’ve really enjoyed learning about different fabrics, helping customers with their projects, and getting hands on experience with different sewing projects. Outside of sewing, I’m most likely doing anything music related. Whether it be discovering new songs, going to live events, or watching musicals, I love to spend my spare time jamming out. Working at My Sewing Supplies and getting to explore my creative side has really helped me grow, and I’m excited to see where my love for design and making things will take me next.

Ray - based in Lindfield
Hey there! I’m a Year 10 student who’s all about creativity – whether I’m getting lost in clay sculpture, jamming out to music, or sewing something new with a machine. Art and hands-on projects have always been my way of expressing myself. I love how different creative outlets can come together, like when I made costumes for my very own music video inspired by my favourite artist. I’m super excited to be part of this team, where I can bring a little bit of that creative energy and maybe even inspire others to mix things up a bit. Looking forward to what we’ll create together!

Will - works in both Lindfield and Sylvania
Hi, I'm Will and I can be found helping with machine servicing. Studying business full time at university means this is a part time activity for me, though I enjoy the challenge of diagnosing and fixing problems with sewing machines. When not working and studying I enjoy playing cricket and soccer.

We hope this helps you put a name to a face and gives you a little more insight into who we are.
Take Care
From All of Us :)
I met the lovely Vicky at a workshop in Urunga, hosted by Caroline Sharkey and taught by Gloria Loughman. It was great to talk to her and learn what is happening in your Sydney premises.
Hopefully one day I will get to attend one of the courses you offer.
Chris Graeve (from Ballina).
Hi Bernadette & Ian, a tribute to you both as employers of long standing staff. Dedication, product knowledge and experience is rare to find in the retail environment. Congratulations to you all!
