This block is an original design drawn up by Michelle Marvig, expanding out from the basic Mariner’s Compass block. 
 
The contrast woven colour in the ring weaves behind the main Compass points, but in front of the secondary, split Compass points. 
 
The pieced area measures 18in finished. 
 
You can vary the size of the block when you add the background surround. 
 
Reference holes have been added to the templates to allow you to mark and match all your seams.  
 
Template set has 9 pieces, including the large background arc.
