Teenage Sewing - a series of 8 classes

Thursdays   9, 16, 23, 30 May 5, 13, 20, 27 June
4pm - 6pm
 
The fee covers tuition for the 8 classes and a choice of 2 patterns from the suitable options we have in store. These are selected patterns geared to easy and beginner's skills.
 
One project should get finished and the second depending on what it is will get close to finished in the timeframe. 
 
Our classes are geared for 4 to 6 students, so that we can ensure you get plenty of time with, and guidance from, the teacher. 
 
Term 1
In this series of classes we hope to achieve the following
Learning outcomes
- matching appropriate fabrics to patterns
- reading a pattern
- sizing a pattern
- adjusting, fitting and cutting a pattern
- understanding sewing seams
- darts
 - yokes
- waistbands
- zipper insertion
Practical outcome
1 finished garment
The skills to finish the second. (we do hope to continue with further terms so you are welcome to carry these projects forward)
 
Requirements list is available if you want to see them before booking. Please reach out online or in store. We can help you put together your sewing kit if you would like our advice on what is best and what is needed. Most requirements will be available to purchase in store and can be kitted up ready for you.  
 
You will be required to make a calico toile, in addition to your skirt, so you will need requirements for this as well.
